Anthony 8th December 2019

In 2013 I had great fun with Claudette and a friend of mine in a poem dramatisation we were working on together, and she held it all together perfectly with her spot-on narration and excellent offstage contributions to the choreography of our character movement. She made a fantastic storyteller, and I would loved to have worked with her again on similar projects. I believe she also would have made a great children's audiobook reader too, with her warm, canny, sometimes playful, sometimes sympathetic, and always honest tones. Her face, lit up by a torch in the darkness, was the last thing the audience saw as she read the final words of that poem (a cautionary tale, The Spider & The Fly by Mary Howitt), and it had a mesmerising effect on the audience who exploded into excited applause at the end. Claudette's humanity and talent will be terribly missed, in performing circles social circles and family circles alike. Goodnight chuck, and thanks for all the pleasant memories. Enjoy your glorious retirement. ✝️❤
